Welcome to the official website of Robert “Bob” Hunt, a dedicated craftsman in the art of construction and woodworking. His journey began at the age of 12, working alongside his father in the home renovation business.
Today, Bob’s 3-Stringers stands as a testament to the divine inspiration that fuels our craftsmanship and the boundless love of God that shines through every chord.
In 1979, Bob ventured out independently, undertaking various construction and woodworking projects.
Over the years, he honed his skills and built a reputation for quality and craftsmanship.
In 2016, Bob’s life took a tragic turn with the loss of his beloved daughter. This devastating event led him to a dark place. However, he found solace in the music he had always loved—blues music—and the unique sound of 3-string Cigar Box Guitars (CBGs). He believes that the Lord guided him to start building these instruments, and it quickly became a passion.
As Bob immersed himself in creating CBGs, he strived for perfection in every piece crafted. Once confident in the quality of his work, he began selling his creations. This new venture led him to participate in summer festivals, where he could share his passion with others. Eventually, this journey culminated in the creation of this website, where the love for CBGs continues to be shared with the world.
